Mt. Longonot
Well, I hiked Mt. Longonot today. It is one of the mountains (dormant volcanoes) we can see from campus. Hopefully, you will enjoy a few of the stats. for them day. 9000ft. to the top, with a hour hike to the rim and a three hour hike around. Going up was hard, but coming down was definitely challenging as well. It's fun to say I did it (thanks to the family who lives behind me that let me tag along).
And so it begins...
...Through the mountain
If you look closely you can see where the lava flowed into the valley in 1863
After lunch we headed around the crater
it looks much scarier, but the truth is
the path cuts down and around this first peak
and so we went up...
Now, I can say I did it, and I think once may be enough.
