No sting
I had the thought to actually go into the huge cemetery a few blocks from my house, and amazingly this thought tied into our team's church service...
Pete (my team leader) let me pick the music and the pastor for our service together. We sang "Christ is Risen from the Dead" and when we got to the words saying, "Our God is not dead, He's alive, He's Alive," the emotions hit. I remember standing in my church back home singing those words and hoping to one day share them overseas on the missions field. Even still as I write these words I am filled with the emotion of realization that I am here, I am now over seas to do just that.
The words of the song, and more importantly from Scripture ring out; through Jesus death has no sting.
There is hope beyond the grave and it's not to to be an ancesteral spirit pulling the springs of your family for the rest of time, as the people here believe.
There is a party waiting in heaven with the God who defied sin and death for us to celebrate with Him someday.
Praying for many chances to share about my VERY ALIVE GOD!!!
