Psalm 107 reminds us that God is faithful.  He listens and answers and is always working for the good of His children.  Therefore, we have a lot to be thankful for and reason to praise Him.

This verse especially stood out to me as we read it during WBC staff devotions because my department and I are in the midst of planning for Missionsfest and are quite busy right now.  Yet, while I notice that my days are extra full and I'm working "flat out" from one thing to the next, I can praise God in the presence of His congregation because God continues to show up in the details.  He has helped me accomplish each task, one after the other.

Similarly, I am feeling the pressure of working two jobs.  jobs.  There have been several times when I have craved downtime.  I've had to talk to God about my attitude during this busy season, and so Psalm 107:8-9 is a balm for my heart. It is exactly what the Holy Spirit has been telling me in the midst of my sadness for how busy life is right now.

Even though my days are tiring right now and I am feeling the pressure mentally and physically, I need to take time to praise God for how He is taking care of me.  He has given me the strength and endurance I have needed, and He has helped me accomplish the tasks before me.  There haven't been major calamities, but instead, each item on the list of "to-dos" has been steadily checked off.
