Our Days are Numbered

Psalm 90:12 says, "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

I was recently with a friend and mentor who reminded me that God numbered our days before we were born.  He created a plan for our lives and will carry it to completion.  As one who likes to have a plan and accomplish it, I like to think I am in charge of my days.  The reality is much better.  The God of the universe, who created me and this whole world I'm living in, is in charge of my days.  He loves me and will carry out the best plan for my days.  

Psalms 143:8 says, "The morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You, show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life." 

This is the perfect reminder that today is not my day, it's God's day, and thankfully, as His child, I can trust Him to order my steps and guide each moment.  

Dear Lord, thank You for waking me up this morning as Your daughter.  I thank You for the new day before me.  Thank You for going before me and helping me with each detail that I will meet today.  May I pause throughout today and remember that You are with me, taking care of me, and everything You give me.  Amen.
