God's Love

I love listening to Missionary Biographies not because of the amazing things people do but because they are the stories of the amazing things God can do.  While listening to the story of D.L. Moody there came a story of another preacher, one that changed the way Moody witnessed.  The other preacher had one focus in all of his sermons, and that was God's love.  To that point Moody had used the pupil to warn people of God's judgement, but this preacher shared just the opposite.  Each night of the "crusade" the preacher focused on one verse, John 3:16 "for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believed in Him shall be saved."  It touched my heart as I listened to the story of Moody as he realized that although God has judgement and that we deserve death, He also has great love for us. The God that created us loves us deeply.  The God who created everything, who needs nothing, desires to give even more of Himself to love us.  I can hardly wrap my head around the fact that the God of the universe would love me, but He does and He loves us perfectly.

As I have spent time with God, going to Him to talk He has opened my eyes, even more to how He is loving me daily.  My prayer is that the students I see every day would have eyes for God's love for them too.  That they would live in the beauty of how much they are loved by God every day.
