Andriamanitra no hanao izany - God will do it - Belitsiky Madagascar

Although my time in Madagascar was short I saw God do an amazing thing.  He took a village with no church and sent a pastor there.  The thing that was even more amazing to me was that the other missionaries and I prayed God would show us who could be the pastor for the village and instead God just sent one.  I love when God does it better than we ever could.

This week I received news from another missionary in Madagascar about the church.  She writes...

This house was built to be one of the houses for the missionaries on a [FOCUS] team in Toliara, three/fours years ago!  Now it [has become] a church building in the village of Belitsaky, where the Shafflers spend so much time [doing] outreach.  I have heard today, there are 40 attendees in the church now.  I am so delighted to be able to visit the village today and see Francis the evangelist (right) and Solontena (left) [the village president] becoming the church's president!  The two were there at the beginning of the outreach a few years ago.  I hope to be there on Sunday for church service.  Praise God for His faithfulness.

After visiting on Sunday morning she continues...

[Here are] a few people who come to church this morning.

The church even has a small choir! God is good!

The president of the village (right) had prayed for a church after the first one washed away, literally and figuratively.  It's amazing to see how God worked.  It gives me hope in praying for leaders.  God used one leader of a village, He will use more.  Pray with me for the leaders of the people in Nosy Mitsio, an island off the northern coast of Madagascar, where friends of mine live.  May God soften the hearts of the leaders to see their need for Jesus and desire Jesus for those on the island too.

Continue to pray for the church in Belitsiky to grow and to live in obedience to God's word.
