Confessions of a choir kid

In order to get to know the new choir students I gave a survey.

I asked the kids what they wanted to work on this year and surprisingly the majority said they wanted to increase their range.  The good news is, that's inevitable.  Many also talked about wanting to create a better sound and to learn to stay on pitch.  These will take a little more work, but the exciting thing is that choir is exactly the place to work on these things.

My second question was "How can your director help you this year."  These are some of the things they wrote...

"Miss Morris can pray for our hearts and eyes this year that we would not just aim for an A, but to learn a life lesson."

"Be encouraging because when the teacher is encouraging it is much easier for everyone else."

"Provide sessions individually to help improve our singing, tone, range..."

"Pray for humility going into senior year"

"Bring chocolate."

"Pray for us."

"Give us time to bond with our section."

"Make the class a place of learning but also a place to have fun"

"Give us a good grade ;) "

"Let me know when I am wrong."

"...Pray that each of us in choir this year takes advantage of the opportunity to touch the lives of those in choir younger than us."

"Be her amazing self"

May God give me the opportunities to encourage each student in a special way this year.
