The Morris' Made it to Africa
It's been a whirlwind few weeks finishing up the school year at RVA with concerts and Graduation and then moving, but it has been extra special because my parents were able to join me. I will always be thankful for the opportunity to share my life in Kenya with them even for a few weeks.
After picking them up to join me for the last weekend of the school year I know some of those first days were a blur for them as they got over jet lag, adjusted to being in Africa and took in my two big, end-of-year concerts. We joke about whether they really remember what happened those first few days as I dragged them to everything I was doing the last week of school trying to help them stay awake during the day so they could sleep at night, but it was very special to include my parents in all the goings on of the end of school so they could see what life is like at RVA.
After school finished we took a few days to relax as I showed them the country that I love. I was so impressed with how they loved on the people around us taking time to say hello to people and ask how they were. Although it was a different world for my parents with animals walking along the road as my parents took in Africa they also took time to love the people which meant a lot to me.
As we continued to enjoy God's creation with a few days trips and some amazing hikes I was very thankful to have my parents help as I moved. It was definitely full days I we packed and I worked on getting ready for the new school year but I was thankful to take breaks with them as well.
Our driver asked my dad to pray for our trip to the airport the last day and we all teared up as we recognized the family God as brought us into, a family that can be across the world but is real and true because of our God. Sitting in the airport to leave my mom and I reminisced about how special it was to be just be together and I am so thankful that my parents were able to share in my life at Kenya, to meet my friends and our brothers and sisters in Christ there, and to see our God in Africa.

My parents got to meet my house-helper, Elizabeth and my driver, Philip's families.
I consider these wonderful Kenyans friends as we serve together for RVA.
You don't get to see a hippo coming after your boat very often!
I love seeing our great God in the animals of Kenya
and it was that much more amazing to see my parents enjoy it too
I loved sharing time at a Kenyans Tea Plantation with my parents,
especially since my dad and I both love tea so much.
My parents even painted the bathroom in my new house.
