Looking Back
Moments of glory from the year:
I was able to ask the choir kids to recount some memories from this past year in choir and I was encouraged by what they valued.
1. Singing Alleluia
2. Dancing with Le Pic School on tour as we worshiped the God we both love
3. Seeing the impact of music that points to Christ as it encouraged people in Gertrude's Hospital.
4. Debriefing together while on tour and pointing to how God was working
5. Pointing to Christ through song at the AIC Bishop's inauguration
My own list includes...
1. It has been amazing to see the kids that I almost didn't let into choir grow the most. I praise the Spirit for his prompting and for God's sovereign plan.
2. A few of the seniors who couldn't be in choir because of other classes are able to still sing for grad.
3. I've loved seeing God create a partnership between myself and some of the kids. It's even more exciting because that was the opposite case at the beginning of the year.
4. Watching kids who are in Christ live a life of blessing for others in a way that could only be because of Christ.
In the case of my other classes I am thankful for the following:
1. I have loved encouraging the Titchie students to lead in worship, giving them opportunities and seeing them grow in their abilities and be excited to continue with those abilities specifically for God's glory.
2. I always love seeing the Music 7 students progress from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. They come in so lost when it comes to music theory and then leave being able to play all the chords needed for worship songs.
3. In comparison to last year I'm thankful that I have learned how to better teach the Music 7 curriculum in order for the students to really learn practical piano skills.
4. I saw God work in the lives of two of my Titchie boys to grow them from purposefully disobedient to loving leaders.
5. Although the 6th graders didn't have quite as much time to get ready to play the National Anthem and I was worried about having the kids play if they didn't feel ready, when it came time to perform they took the opportunity to enjoy it had fun.
6. It was really cool to see the growth of the students in the musical. After pounding out certain notes and words for weeks it was exciting to see them finally do them well for the performances.
Overall:
1. It was wonderful to see God answer my prayer for a friend in my neighbor Katie
2. I am so thankful for the people who have invited me for meals throughout the year.
3. I am thankful for the time I was able to spend in Bible study with one of the older ladies on campus
4. I have been thankful for how God has helped me develop my relationship with Him this year giving me a desire to come to Him with everything and find hope because of those times.
5. God has provided for me financially this year in a way that only He could.
6. I got to see two students come to Christ this year - two more people who can rest in the Lord.
