Hope
As another year closed at RVA I looked back to see God's goodness. With 75% of the choir being new this past year it took us a while to get to know each other. There were times when we struggled to work together as a team and I often prayed for my relationship with the students. Only because of a loving God, who desires to see right relationships between His children, did I see a marked change by the end of the year. I relished in the commendatory God created in our group by the end of the year as we worked together in fellowship to enjoy singing and using the gifts God had given us.
And so, as I look back at last year and pray for this coming year, trusting in God's faithfulness, I can't help but desire God's direction as I consider my role in encouraging another group of high school, choir students, leading us to work together rather than individualistically.

Therefore, I have been praying and seeking God as to what He wants me to focus on with the kids. Learning notes, singing beautiful music well and growing through song are important, but my heart's desire is to point to Christ, to remember the bigger picture of who God is in our lives. God has been faithful to show me His glory as I seek His face and to point me towards the hope that is in Him, and so it is this message that I aspire to share with the students.
This past year God has been calling me and teaching me to trust Him first. He has faithful shown Himself in my life for the sake of the kingdom and so reminded me that He is trustworthy. My hope is to praise Him for His faithfulness by coming together with the choir, to trust Him with out lives, our gifts, our efforts and our purpose, and to thereby rest in His greatness.
Please join with me in praying that this coming year the choir and I would trust God together.
