Brazilian Barbecue
RVA exists in a 90 acre enclosed campus. In that we have small neighborhoods of staff homes broken up by school buildings. This year I lived in what have been called the "mouse houses," the smallest of the duplexes. Around me there are a few older couples and three families. At the beginning of the year the Brazilian family invited us all over to get to know our neighbors and to enjoy a Brazilian barbecue. If you've ever eaten Brazilian barbecue you know what a treat it is. If not, imagine beef and chicken hearts marinated in Brazilian salt and cooked over charcoal. So good!
Now, as we look at the end of the year with a few of us moving out of the neighborhood it was the perfect bookend to join again for a Brazilian Barbecue to chat about the year gone by.
My friend and neighbor Katie's aunt and uncle served in Brazil for a time. Amazingly she had a few special Brazilian cups here in Kenyan and made a great Brazilian chocolate treat for our Brazilian feast. How cool!
As we all chatted, it was wonderful to share our love for God and how He is working while enjoying good food outside. What a blessing.
