Mimi Moyani - My Heart

There have been a few kids on my heart lately, and I have to share.

A few weeks back one of the dads on staff shared that his 7th grade son got in trouble because he didn't check his math work with two other people.  The son shared that none of the other boys would check his paper.  The dad explained that a few of the boys talk about who their group is allowed to talk to and who not.  Knowing the dad and the math teacher I can imagine that the students have been talked to since, but it makes me so sad that it even happened.

Then, during 7th grade study hall I watch one boy who does his work by himself.  Unfortunately he is so prickly towards anyone who comes over that it perpetuates.  I can't help but wonder if she is acting that way out of hurt.

Today, I ended up chatting with another staff member about some of the other difficulties some of the students are dealing with.  Without going into specifics things like anxiety episodes and suicide watch were brought up.  I left praying asking God to help these students, to free them from these strong holds.

I don't think it's a quiescence that when I went to put on some worship music to write this all down the song that came on was, "Break Every Chain."   Please pray with me for the students at this school.  We are not immune to the devils schemes.  But we have a God who is can break these chains when we come before Him and ask for help.
