Choir Devo: Prayer of the Children

For 3rd term the choir was split into three groups.  With a conductor voted for each group the students then picked the song their group would sing.

One of the SATB groups chose the song, "Prayer of the Children"

I hadn't heard it before, but I have to admit I was impressed that one of the groups picked a Spiritual balled.  In my experience they often pick upbeat contemporaneity songs, so it's great to have the variety.  Plus, it warms my heart that one group didn't pick a secular song.

I love the vulnerability of the words.  It reminds me of the many psalms David wrote, pouring out his hurt to God.  I also love that it prays to Jesus, because He is who sets us apart from other "Religions."  Jesus is the one who Saves, so it is only fitting that the song would pray to Him for help.

As I look to learn more about the song I found many amazing versions on Youtube and it gave me home that others would see it too and be lead by the Spirit to pray to Jesus as well.  He always answers.
