Twins and God's Time

This morning during devotions I realized a little more about God.  Living in a different time zone than my family I am often thinking about the fact that they are behind me.  So, when I am waking up they are heading to bed.  I especially realized it when my twin nephews were being born.  It was amazing to me that they were born on my March 2nd and their March 2nd, because it could have been different.

As I thought about God's character I realized that He is outside time.  He is before time and behind it.  He is in the future and the past.  This finally made more sense to me when I think about time zones.  God is with the people in Australia who are ahead of me here in Kenya and He is still with those in the States who are finishing the day they are in.  Wow!

When I think of the verse "This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it,"  I can take even more comfort because God has already been in the day making it good.  He is in the day ahead of me and the day behind me that is still happening in the States.  Is your mind blown yet?

Thinking back to the past week God planned for the twins to be born at the same time as I was on the RVA choir tour.  When I realized it was going to happen that way I was also reminded that it wasn't a surprise to God.  It was amazing to see my family support each other.  Although it was hard to be "working" while my sister was having her babies I was so glad God helped me still be a part of it.  He is outside time and He is also in charge of time.  I'm so glad I have a God who is orchestrating everything for His good and ours.

I'm told Emry was sleeping (the older sister) during this picture.
I love this picture the most because I get to see my younger sister, her loving husband
and my new nephews.  "Praise God from whom all blessings flow."
