Choir Tour 2018

It's hard to believe the RVA High School Choir Tour was only two weekends ago.  In the words of one of the students, "that feels like forever ago."  With our full schedule here on campus we have since done our end of term music concert and we've moved onto music for graduation.

Now that it's another weekend I woke up remember some of the amazing things we saw God do on tour.  With a little extra time this morning I have finally had the chance to edit the pictures.

Our first stop was at and international Pre-K through 8th grade school.  I had seen this school while out in Kenya, but hadn't ever been.  The director of the school invited us to come, which was amazing.  Since I had never been there I wasn't sure what to expect.  We quickly learned that it was not a Christian school.  Pray for Banda School.

Friday we stopped at Gertrudes' Children's Hospital.  Because of the rain, rather than having an outdoor concert we brought the music to the wards and even got to pray with some of the patients.  In a country that is split between Christian and Muslim it was amazing to sing openly about Jesus throughout the hospital.

On Saturday our first stop was to Le Pic school.  I will always remember how God dropped this school in our lap last year at the 11th hour.  It continues to be one of our favorite places to fellowship.  This year we shared back music back and forth as we worshiped God together.

On Sunday morning we joined a church in Narobi for service.  It was there that the pastor led us in singing, "Johovah Has the Final Say" with the congregation.  We later added this song to the end of our Second Term Concert.

Our last concert was suppose to be at Kijabe Girls' School back in the town where RVA is.  Last year we added this concert at the last minute after our final concert was canceled.  It's ironic that in turn this concert ended up getting canceled because of the rain.  When we got there they were finishing up registration for their new term and won't be done before our dinner.  Although it was disappointing to have our final concert canceled it was amazing to hear the kids singing in the buses on the way back to school.  As they got out of the bus they all joined in singing, "Jehovah has the final say."  With the final note sung the sky opened and the rain fell.  As we unpacked and headed home it occurred to me that if we would have stayed for the extra two hours to do our concert we would have been pushing the bus out of the mud to get home.  God knew our kids needed the rest more.
