A Sunday Afternoon
When the schedule is busy I relish my Sunday afternoons. They are days of rest for a reason.
It had been raining for weeks and with one more week to go in the term with an afternoon of sun I was excited to take a walk. While the weather held I thought I would get off campus. Headed down Old Kijabi Town Road, one of my favorite places to walk, this is what I found...
I had put in my head phones at first, listening to the end of a missionary biography, but all the sudden I heard the water. After so much rain I heard a stream running. I knew there was a bridge down this road, but I wasn't sure when I would come across it. The water beckoned and as I walked on I also heard a bell. Rounding the corner I had to smile because there was a single cow eating grass on the side of the road, ringing his bell as he ate.
The sounds of the forest made me so happy. From the birds, to the wind, the stream and even the cow bell, I couldn't have asked for a better Sunday afternoon walk.
As the sky began to darken I headed back to campus to beat the rain and made it back just in time. What a blessing is a walk in the SON on a "Sun"day.

It is amazing to literally walk in the clouds.
