More - Theme from Mondo Cain - Choir Tour Devo

Mondo Cane is a documentary that combines stories and music from different cultures.

The song "More" is the theme from Mondo Cane.  It has a jazz feel and has been redone by the likes of Frank Sinatra and others.  The words are as follows:

More than the greatest love the world has known,
This is the love I give to you alone,
More than the simple words I try to say,
I only live to love you more each day.
More than you'll ever know, my arms long to hold you so,
My life will be in your keeping, waking, sleeping, laughing, weeping,
Longer than always is a long long time, but far beyond forever you're gonna be mine.
I know I've never lived before and my heart is very sure,
No one else could love you more.

[musical interlude]

More than you'll ever know , my arms they long to hold you so,
My life will be in your keeping, waking, sleeping, laughing, weeping,
Longer than always is a long long time, but far beyond forever you'll be mine,
I know that I've never lived before and my heart is very sure,
No one else could love you more, no one else could love you more.

There are two schools of thought - 1.  Everything can be split into sacred and secular.  or 2.  Everything is sacred.  I tend to think somewhere in between.  The world can take things that are sacred and make them secular.  But, I believe that God takes the secular and redeemeds it to become sacred.

When you hear the words of the song "More," you can tell it was written between a women and a man.  But, what if you look at it as God written to you?  The truth is, the audience isn't going to know that this song was originally written for a movie.  If we convey it as a love song from God to us, it can have a powerful message.

What is a "secular" song God has redeemed for you?
Mine is "The man who can't be moved" by the script.
Did you know there is a female artist who is redeeming secular songs by writing new words to them?  Check out Beckah Shae
