A song is complex, and by that I mean it has many parts.  I could talk about the form (the way its written) or the lyrics (the words the composer chose to use).  There is the composer himself to consider or his motives behind writing the song.  But, sometimes it's just nice to use a song for worship.  Yes, there is a lot that goes into a song, but ultimately, what is its purpose? 


Let's look at the song, "Lift Up Your Eyes."  The song has an ABCa form simply, written using an"adaptation" of Psalm 121 (look this us).  Not much can be found about the composer.
