"Behold our God"
God is great and He is working, that's the only way I can start this post.
Last week, the Senior Girls - with their Dorm Mom - led worship for RVA church. As they led they came to the song, "Behold our God." My first thought was, "we got scooped" because the Junior High Choir was slated to sing the same song this week coming Sunday for offertory.
But, after the thought went away, I enjoyed the opportunity to worship with a song I knew. Then, it happened - the power went out on campus (as it sometimes does). All I could think was, "Yes, God you are taking all the glory in this moment." It wasn't about the power point, or the instruments, or even the leaders, it was just about Him - "Behold our God."
I have shared this story several times this week and God continues to do great things with this song.
I shared it in my High School Choir and one of my freshman even asked if we could warm up to the song in choir on Wednesday. When I asked the senior girls' Dorm Mom if it would be okay to still sing with the Junior High Choir this coming Sunday she graciously encouraged me that the Seniors wouldn't even be there and that it was such a powerful song - we should go ahead. When I asked the chapel team what to do since the song had been sung the week before they got behind it and shared how powerful the song had been for them as well. And finally, last night when I shared these stories with my 8th grade Caring Community, one of them said she had the same experience as I did when the lights went out.
Please don't get lost in all the "cool stories" and forget the point. The title is, "Behold our God."
As I started, I also want to end. God is great, and He is working.
