Starting Second Term

I made a point to work on school projects a little every day over Vac, so when the new term started I felt ready, until I got a cold.  I was really bummed to be dragging this past week as school started back up again.  After waiting for so many weeks for the kids to come back it was annoying to be so foggy from the cold medicine.  With a cloudy head I wasn't as ready as I thought I would be to jump back into the pace we "know and love" here at RVA.  With activities every night the first week I found I wasn't as ready as I wanted to be.  The saying, "hit the ground running," definitely applies to RVA.

I have been very thankful for a quiet Saturday and Sunday afternoon, now that my cold is almost gone, to prepare for a new week.  But looking back, I am thankful for the wonderful moments that filled the first week.  Even though I was pretty foggy in general, I was still impressed with some of the things the kids did that showed their love for Jesus.
On day two my 7th graders walked into class.  After checking out my seating chart one of the boys made sure to high-five his new partner when everyone else was high-fiving theirs, so that his partner, whom he doesn't normally hang out with, would not be left out.

I know there were others, but I can't seem to remember them.  All in all, I have great students.
