When you're gifted travel - you go.  "Home or Rome?"  A friend asked me to travel with her over Christmas.  When tickets to Rome were less than tickets Home, we picked Rome.  It was a little odd not having a traditional family Christmas, but as my mom said, it's a once in a lifetime thing.
