Traveling for Christmas Day 1 - December 22nd

As my friend Naphtali said, "Home or Rome?"  When home is too expensive for Christmas and you are given the gift or traveling you pick Rome.  Although it was a little strange to be traveling over Christmas rather than enjoying a traditional "family Christmas," it was a trip I'll never forget.

We flew to from Nairobi to Qatar on our first leg.  

While in flight on our first plane we hit rough winds and the flight attendant announced, "We are going through an area of turbulence...we will be canceling the hot drink services." 

After a nap and an episode on the plane TV we made it to Qatar, which we both learned we were pronouncing incorrectly.  Once we downed a bottle of water that "tasted like a mountain" we found a quiet terminal to finish the day and rest till our next flight.
