What I may not be able to do...

RVA Parents
I have an RVA parent and a friend from my time in Madagascar staying with me this week.  Erin's son and daughter are students here at RVA and her son had leg surgery on Friday.  Their family serves from Toliara Madagascar where I lived for a year.  Erin will stay with me till the end of term, then she and her kids will head back to Toliara for "Vac."

Toliara Friends
It is super fun to have a friend stay with me, but it's even more fun to have a friend from Toliara, my first African home.  As we caught up last night I loved laughing about all the parts of Toliara that only those who have lived there would understand.

Partnering in Mada
What really got me excited was to hear about their families work in Madagascar.  Ben (Erin's Husband) has been partnering with Junuro (an amazing Malagasy pastor from Toliara) for serveral years.  Junuro's heart is to share the gospel with Madagascars and has been traveling all over the country starting churches and training leaders.  Ben is joining his efforts in support and recently they have headed into northern Madagascar.  Erin explained that there is not a church presence in the north of Mada, so church planting is slow going.  It was so exciting to hear that they are working in an area with so much need.  Erin shared that when she left to come here Ben was working on making sim cards with Bible literature for the people in the north who may not be able to read the Bible for themselves yet.

The Reason Why
Not only is the work in Madagascar exciting, but hearing Erin talk reminded me all the more of why I am here.  I may not be an able to head into the bush of Madagascar, but I can teach.  I get to teach the kids of these amazing Missionaries.  I get to help the kids have a great education, and I get to stand in the gap while their parents are in another place.

I love hearing what God is doing through the lives of the parents of the kids that I hang out with every day.
