Giving Thanks, Giving Thanksgiving

I picked this song because it's catchy and I can imagine everyone singing it around campus after our concert.  What I didn't think about was the fact that the choir can't get it out of our heads.  It's like the "Small World" song.  I was joking with a few students after choir on Friday as we watched one of the basketball games.  With the song stuck in our heads we imagined the rest of the school chanting it around campus.  The most appropriate place was the Cafo.  Can you just see kids standing in line for food singing, "Giving Thanks, Giving Thanksgiving."?  We thought it may look a little like this...

For devos I decided to write the solo up like a "Reader's Theater."  The girls read the italics, the boys the bold words.  Underneath, the freshman chant "Giving thanks, giving thanksgiving."


Come, all thankful people come.  Thank the Lord where life and breath come from.  Come live a life of grateful praise.  In all we do, give gratitude.  

ALL: And there's no better way than to take God's gifts and give them away.

In gratitude we share with those around us and care for those who have great need.  In gratitude for all of God's great blessings, we go to share God's love and care.
