Just the right fit
You know that feeling when something is a good fit. That's how I feel about being here at RVA. As I walk around campus I am thankful to be here. Looking back at the different places I have been my first year is often hard as I try to transition and find my place, but it hasn't been that way here. God has taken my loves and the abilities He has given me and placed me here. I get to teach and I'm right in the middle of the mission field here in Africa. It fits.
The first two terms have been a joy, with numerous opportunities to help the students use their voices to share the message of who God is. In preparation for the choir tour the students wrote their testimonies. It was amazing to read how each of their faiths were solidified and grown here at RVA. It made me realize that RVA is not just a school it is a place where God is growing His kingdom.
Beyond working with the students, I regularly hear and pray for God's plan around Africa, which is close to my heart. Seeing God's work in the students and around Africa is exactly where I know I'm suppose to be. The good news is I have been asked to stay here at RVA a second year. This is especially important for RVA because the other music director will be on furlough next year. The school has asked me to stay, not only because of my music certificate but to provide stability in the music program. Rather than having two new people next year I can help to maintain the program for the sake of the students. God brought me here last year to fulfill a need that goes beyond just this year and I would love for you to be part of His plan as well.
In the past two years you have fit into God's work overseas through your support. I'm proud to be fit together with you.
