Musings
As the term winds down I have had several people ask me how I'm feeling. The question stems for the fact that life at RVA is busier than most. With required weekend activities it's easy to get warn out. However, it's hard to answer the question by admitting that I'm warn out, because although my body is telling me I am, with regular migraines, my spirits are high. After two months of teaching, I feel like I am settled again and I am enjoying my classes rather than stressing about them. So, when people ask how I feel to finally be to the end of the term, the truth is, I am enjoying teaching and can hardly imagine being off for a whole month.
That being said, with finals this week and a little more time on my hands I have already been musing about what to do with the break. Having a week off before my transformational development conference in Dec. I have been pondering the things I enjoy doing but haven't even had time to think about because of our busy schedule here. Because I love lists so much those things include...
1. Sit at a coffee shop to finish my Christmas cards and work on the Elementary (Titchie) grades.
2. Get a massage
3. Pot plants for inside my house
4. Go for walks
5. Make a new music playlist
6. Read - I have several books on my list
7. Add a diy decoration somewhere around my house and or in my office.
8. Shop for a few more tops for school
Then there is my work list:
1. Email schools about tour
2. Look ahead in the Titchie curriculum and find a new curriculum for next year.
4. Write out ae term plan for Music 7
5. Clean some in my music office
From what others have said, the Christmas Vake is one of the nicest at RVA because the staff often stick around and put on Holiday parties. One mom mentioned that the break goes faster than you may think. I imagine all the holiday festivities will distract from the fact that the campus looses 500+ kids for a month. I know I will miss seeing them every day though.
