Amani

I've had a heart for refugees since I worked with World Relief in College taking care of Refugee children during the summer while their parents took English classes.

Yesterday, I was excited to support refugees here in Kenya through "Amani ya juu."  Check out more from their website...

Our name, Amani ya Juu, is a Swahili saying which means “Peace from Above”. We are a social economic enterprise committed to peace and reconciliation for women from many African nations and cultures. We use beautiful African materials to create high quality fair trade home goods and accessories. Through our faith in God who provides a transcendent peace, we heal from the past. Together we grow in dignity and respect for one another.

I had to "carry the story" like I do with my shirt from
ReNew Project in Wheaton by getting a shirt from Amani too.

I found this sale bag that will hopefully help my shoulders
as I carry my laptop to my different classrooms around campus.

The cool thing is that Amani is also in the States, so you can order online.
