Tavoahangy Plastic

As foreigners here in Mada we tend to have a lot of plastic water bottles lying around. As a result I have seen more than one object lesson using the water bottles.  This newest one is my favorite.

This is our life…

Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”

As we sin we are no longer clean like God.  The blue color represents the sin that touches all of our lives.

Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death, BUT the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Because we sin we are no longer clean and therefore we are separated from the clean God forever.  However, if you allow Jesus to come into your life He can clean your life.

Romans 3:25 says, “God offered him, so that by his blood he should become the means by which people’s sins are forgiven through their faith in him.”
(Add Bleach to the Bottle).

As we continue to live life we will still sin (adding more blue to the water), but because we have Jesus in our lives we are still seen as clean before God (the water will stay clear because of the bleach).

However, this does not mean that we can willfully sin.  Romans 6:1-2 says, “What should we say then, should we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We have died to sin – how can we go on living in it?”

Now the question is, do you want to live clean or do you want to live apart from God?

As we discussed this story I realized that even though it’s simple many people are still not ready to live clean with Jesus.  As I learn this object lesson and the verses in the local dialect pray with me that hearts will be ready to receive it, to receive Jesus.
