Vaovao Mandeha Mafy - News Travels Fast

I felt like a missionary today as I headed out into the village of Ankalika to teach them the Vezo creation song.  Leave it to me to get lost and take my pous driver through the sand.  After getting directions to the wrong church several times we finally headed in the right direction.  I couldn't have asked for a better driver; he took great care of me and hummed the whole way.  When we finally made it to the church the pastor's wife said she had already heard that we were lost on the other side of the village looking for their church.  What can I say but - News travels fast.   

I went back the next day and had a ton of fun as the church learned the storying Creation Song written in their language.  I got to use my musical ear a little to explain when the phrases when up a note, down a note, or stayed the same.  Learning new music is definitely part of my heart.
