Sweet Dreams

A missional friend of Kara's (my leader) had a dream about our team.  In the dream we had several children of differing ages that we were taking care of, soon some of the Malagasy took up helping parent the children.  This dream is realized in our storying groups.  At different stages of growth they are the children of different ages.  It is our hope to see the Malagasy indeed take over parenting.

Ankalika to tell you a story:
In the beginning stages of storying this group has gone through two of the stories taking in God's creation, followed by the fall - all in their own dialect.  Already leadership is forming in a few of the members as they take on helping to explain the questions and ideas.

Sakama to you:
The young people in this group have gone through phase 1 and are now on to reading from the Bible and putting it into their own words to share with others.  As they discuss the story they are challenged to live what they learn.  Here too, leadership is forming along with intense questions about the Bible.

Sarondrano your heart away:
This fishing village has several churches, but people openly dislike the Bible.  However, with an openness for listening and relationships there is a possibility of starting a storying group here.  Within this village is a family who own a restaurant and several bungalows to host visitors.  They, like the family in Andrakoro, are not Christians but open to us.  The only obstacle is the distance, it takes 45 minutes to get there.

Balitsikey to the equation:
Similarly, this village on the water is a little further away.  Already we have a relationship with the people there, but they are bound by the witch doctor.  The hope is for there to be an opening for a storying group to then lead to a church plant.

Market my words:
Living outside of a market has presented me with the great opportunity to build relationships with the female market workers.  Together we tell the stories as they help me with different words.  My hope is to one day see the stories spread throughout the market as well as to see discipleship grow.

What's the Mada:
Pray for each group by name (however you pronounce them)
Pray that the Holy Spirit would work in thought provoking questions and discussions.
Pray for God to grow people of peace, disciples and leaders.
