Fiangonana
I got to attend the church I have been ministering with occassionally on Saturdays. The contrast to the big Lutheran churches I have been attending was evident in more ways than one.
This little church is only attended by 15 or so adults, but with their witness for evangelism it is evident that they have a real relationship with Christ. They may be few but they are authentic, unlike the huge churches full of people who attend to go through the motions. This small church of active believers is a picture of Christianity in Toliara.
On one side of the small building sat the young adults and the elderly along with the families in the back. On the other side where tons of children who attend even though their parents don't. It reminded me of Jesus' words, "Let the little children come to me..." While there was a portion for the children I was surprised they would want to come and sit through a sermon.
All in all, it was refreshing to be with people who have a passion for Christ and also eye opening as to the true nature of Christianity here.
