Workers

I have been thinking about God's harvest a lot lately as I read the book, "The Four Fields of Kingdom Ministry".  The book starts with the passage about the sower who watched God work in his field growing the crop while he slept.  I was particularly struck by the end of the passage that points to the need for many workers to harvest the field when the time comes.  This is why Luke 10:2 says to pray for more workers.  The implication is that the seed has already been sown by the Spirit and now there is a harvest ready.

The book goes on to explain that the Luke 10:2 verse is specifically praying for missionaries to see where there is a harvest by looking for people of peace as Jesus instructed the 12 to do when he sent them out.  Then, they should ask for workers from within their own people to help with the harvest. This is an encouragement with our group of three here in Toliara.  We are praying for workers from within.
