Ever since I heard Kara had a sewing machine I could use I have been jonesing to sew. I settled on a curtain for my door and kept my eye out for fabric. While wondering the markets with the gang before they head back to the States I saw some fabric I really liked. After double checking if it would work in my room I realized the bit of brown would work great with the door.
With a day off at Pete and Kara's I planned to get the fabric early in the morning on my way over. That may have been a mistake. With so merchants awake and opening their shops for the day a few guys were crowding around. One was having his first cigarette and blowing it right near my face as he tried to show me the fabric and talk to me about what I was going to use it for.
After telling them how much I wanted they gave me a price. When I tried to pay they said I hadn't given enough. After pulling out more and getting my change I was pretty sure they made me pay double what they quoted but at $1.50 for a yard and a half I think I did alright. I should have guessed buying fabric would be an experience.
Pulling the machine out and dusting it off Pete informed me I would need to use a converter for the power source since the machine was a different voltage that Mada. When he pulled it out I was a little afraid, it looked like an external car battery. Once I finally got started it was like sewing in the States and now I'm excited for a little hang them up.
