Home Stay

Lacey Jo and I spent a 7 days in the beach front village of Sarondrano for our required week without the team. It was more of a vacation as we took walks along the shore, hung out with the villagers, ate fresh fish and rice, and worked on language.  Four days in I was looking forward to meeting the family I would live with and starting life with them, but God provided fun opportunities each day, whether it was making bracelets with shells and twine or helping with the jelly weed harvested for profit by the people (more on that in another post).  In the end nothing beats waking up to the waves, or sitting in the sand in the out door kitchen hanging with the kids and staff, chatting and watching the cook prepare our meal.

We took a boat to the fishing village
