Summer Wedding?

The summer is known for weddings and it's true that there are several weddings this time of year all around the world, but in Madagascar it isn't because of the season.  In fact, it is heading into winter on that side of the world.  Three of my teammates have now been to a wedding in Toliara.  As you get ready to go to a wedding this June I thought you may enjoy another perspective on what a wedding is like in another part of the world.

The youth of the community pitched in together

After the wedding the couple greet their guests
and are presented with gifts and money.

The church is then transformed adding tables and chairs.
The honored guests enjoy a meal inside.

of Paty (Spaguetti), Sambozas (the small triangles with meat and herbs inside, or mashed potatoes) and the fried sticks called Kappa Biso.

...while the youth sit under a tent outside.

After the festivities many enjoy the 45 minute walk home together.
