On This Day...
I'm thankful to my parents that on this day 31 years ago I was born.
That day was a Palm Sunday and, as my mom explains it, there was no choir that week because my dad, the choir director, and my mom, one of the choir members, were not in church. No wonder I am so musical.
My dad had been telling all of the church members that I was going to be a boy or a son, so when I was born and the news circulated through the church, no one believed I was a girl.

I love that I was born on Palm Sunday because it is one of my favorite Sundays of the year. It is a chance for us to proclaim "Hosanna" to the now risen Lord, the King of God's kingdom.
April 15th, being tax day, also hold special significance for my family because I was the first granddaughter to my mom's father who worked for the IRS for many years. How special that I would be born on the day he celebrated the end of tax season.
4 short years after my birth, around this same time of year, I was born again, this time of the Spirit and into the most important life someone can have - a life in Christ, my Savior.
Now, on this day 31 years later my family took a walk around the forest preserve near our house to enjoy the beautiful weather God gave us and the life we live in Him.
