The Bread of Life

There are a lot of different kinds of bread at our house.  I have to laugh because everyone has their own.  I eat the oat bread in the morning and Italian for lunch, my mom likes white most of the time but wheat for other things.  Janae has her own and so does Ryan and you better not touch those because they are special for them.  At dinner we eat tortillas or Hamburger buns, and don't even get me started on all the different kinds of those.  If you try serving BLTs in this house you may have to pull out three different loafs just to make the toast.  HAHA.

What have I learned from this fun, family experience?  Bread is very important.  It's one of MY favorite parts of a meal because it is so filling.  Add bread to a meal and you can be full fast.  For a girl, like me, who is perpetually hungry that is a happy thing.

Today I realized that Jesus talks about bread too.  He said, "I am the Bread of Life."  Each of us may fill up on a different kind of bread, but it's all bread.   I am not saying that Jesus changes for each of us.  I only mean that Jesus knows just how to minister to each of our different personalities.  We are all created differently.  My mom, my sister, my brother in law, and I all eat different bread, yet we all love and need bread.  God knows how to fill us up with just the right kind of bread and that is Jesus.

Are you fill up on Jesus today?  How has He filled you up and touched that special part of your personality today?  For me it was a song that I woke up singing.  Thank You Lord for Your love.

"This is my daily Bread..."

  1. Love this, Bethany! Today, I sensed confirmation that this season of rest has been necessary and good for me. I need to adapt to a new rhythm of life now and begin work again soon. Today, I felt him say that He will help me establish that new rhythm...I can because He is able, and I should not fear.
