A Pocket Full of Love

One of my best friends happens to be named Bethany too.  She and I have crafting, thrifting and decorating in common.  We also both love Merrick's Art Blog and wanted to steal her contrasting t-shirt pocket idea.  So, while on spring break I went to WI to thrift and craft with one of my besties.  We were successful.

This is a great project for you too.

Step 1: Grab an old t-shirt.

Step 2:  Pick your contrasting pocket fabric.

Step 3:  Take the original pocket off using a seem ripper.

Step 4:  Using that pocket cut your new pocket.  I left an extra inch for the folds and for a larger pocket.

Step 5:  Iron the pock so that the rough edges are all in, including the top.  Before sewing the pocket on the shirt sew across the top of the pocket.

Step 6:  Pin the corners of the pocket on the shirt where you want it to be.  I used the original top of the previous pocket to be the top of my new pocket.  Make sure the top is straight then sew the pocket making sure to keep the stitches close to the edges.
