Letter to Father Christmas

Dear Father Christmas,

How are you doing?  What's it like to have lived for so long, what are the things you have seen in your life time?  Do you like your job; what do you like about it?

Some of the other kids say they have been good this year; although I have had some moments of good, I am truly a sinner and can only count my goodness as God in me.  I recently watched "Arthur Christmas," there is a moment in the beginning where one of the elfs gives his goodness to a bad kid so the kid can have a present.  That's what it's like for me.  It if weren't for God's goodness given to me I wouldn't deserve any good gifts.

Thanks for being merciful to us like God is everyday.

Now is the point in the letter when I get to ask for things. It just occurred to me why Jesus modeled prayer.  It seems selfish to write a letter just asking for things, but how often is that the only reason we pray.  It would be easy to ask for a gift card to Amazon for the books I want to read, but if I'm asking for gifts I'm going big.  Why not right, you are Father Christmas.  I would love to physically see or hear of 10 new Christians this year.  That seems like a low number, but to be a part of it physically or hear of it first hand I think 10 is a good number to start.  I would also love to stay at RVA.  I love teaching here and spending time with the kids.  I could probably ask for more things, but my last Christmas wish is that my parents could come visit me some time.

Thanks for all you do for the people around the world, it's a big job, but an important one.

Merry Christmas,
Bethany Corin
