Featuring: World Vision

You have have seen commercials to sponsoring a child through World Vision.  My family has sponsored a child for several years.  In fact they gave us a new child when the first one was no longer in need of help.  As exciting as that is I will miss Thimbincosi.

Along with sponsoring children World Vision also helps others countries in the form of caregiver kits, hygiene kits, and school tools.  While I was at a conference I got to participate in one of their largest shipments of caregiver kits thus far.  The 16,000 people at the conference helped to put together 30,000 first aid kits including water purifying tablets, wash cloths, latex gloves, and ointments.  These kits were headed to the Sudan.  If you work at a corporation they may want to host a packing event.  Your church could do this as well. There are often events around the country.  Finding one is a easy as going to clicking on Events.

I was part of one of the 15 teams that helped back, tape and load the boxes.  Somehow, I ended up as the team captain.

I'll give you one guess what number team we were.

There are lots of other ways to help through World Vision.  I think I will start sponsoring a child of my own.  I'll keep you posted.  I would love to hear about those of you how do.  Comment and tell me about it.
