Sewing. Easier than you may think.

I'm just a single gal who loves to thrift and craft.  I have been thrifting all of my life, thanks to my mom.  I can also thank her for my ability to sew.  My crafting took a new turn when I started making infinity scarves to sell on Etsy.  You can find me at https://www.etsy.com/shop/CircleAround?ref=search_shop or click on the picture to go there.

This is one of my first handmade scarves.
This was my first major crafting project, since Jr. High.  It has led to a lot of fun finding fabrics, sewing, picting, and posting.

After finding Merrick's Art Blog (shout out to Merrick and her sisters)http://www.merricksart.com/p/about.html, I was challenged to make 5 of the pins I posted on Pintrest. This has been my first weekend of crafting for myself.
Saturday morning was spent sewing my bell bottom jeans into skinny jeans.  Now, I have two more pair of jeans.

In the afternoon I went Antique Shopping, my Saturday ritual.  Its cathartic.  Vintage Shopping is one of my favorite past times.  I can thank my dad for my love of all things Vintage. On family trips we would make two stops.  One at a thrift store for my mom and one at a vintage shop for my dad.  He collects 7up memorabilia.  One of these days I will post pictures of his office.  It makes for a fun hunt and an easy gift when you are in another country.  Either way, I did great at yesterday's Antique Shop, Resale Connection:

My evening project was sewing skinny pants.  My first attempt resulting in 6 tries so I gave up on those.  They will be my project for later in the week.  My second two tries turned out a little better.

Steps:
1. Put on the pants inside out. Pin the correct size the for ankles, waist and crotch.
2. Draw the shape on the inside with a pen. Don't worry it will wash out.
3. Sew and try on. 4. Snip and wear.
5. As my mom says, "Don't forget the finishing" - Make sure to iron the seams.

My last attempt turned out to be my church outfit.  I love them because they help me feel like it's spring, which I decided it is.

The Result:

Outfit: Pants $2, Belt - thrifting - $2, Boots - thrifting - $6, Necklace - vintage - $3, Shirt - H&M -$6.  Outfit: Under $20.  Buying everything under $10: Priceless.  Well maybe not priceless - it can be dangerous.

Till next time, I have to decide:
