Double Feature: Peace of Thread & Latin American Missions

It's that time of year again.  Time to get ready for summer trips.  Last summer I was able to go with a group of High Schoolers to GA to visit Clarkston.  That town is the most diverse in the country because, as I mentioned in my last feature, it is the headquarters to World Relief.  Therefore, there are over 60 countries represented in the local high school.  While there we met two ladies who help the refugee women create their own business making handbags.  It's called Peace of Thread.  My sister and I were on this trip together and each purchased a bag, meeting the ladies who made them.    I bought a second one for a friend.  You can purchase a bag for yourself online!!!

Below is my sister with her bag hiking Stone Mountain on that trip:

My bag is a clutch that I got for special occasions, because you can never have enough of those.

Per request I bought a green clutch for my friend who is also named Bethany.

My sister, pictured above, is also part of Latin American Missions were she works as a nurse down in Mexico City.  Her first trip was two summers back when she went for three months. Now, she is a part of the Year Out Program.  She speaks Spanish, eats Mexican, and takes public transportation like a pro, but more than that she is helping with surgeries, teaching English and working with the locals.
